Time shows up differently on dogs. The gray fur, the slower walks, and the quiet naps that seem to last a little longer each year. And that’s why moments like this clip hit people right in the feelings. Shared on @maverick_tha_menace, the video shows Eva, a 14-year-old senior dog, heading back from a walk with her human brother.

The account mainly follows Maverick, her younger German Shepherd sibling, but this time Eva steals the spotlight. The Labrador is strolling down the sidewalk at an easy pace. Then she notices who’s waiting ahead, and suddenly her pace changes.

Senior dog gets a ‘pep in her step’ the minute she sees her owner

The video starts with Eva walking toward the camera on a sidewalk. Her human brother, whom she also loves very much, is holding her leash while she walks off-leash. It is a very slow, steady pace at first.

But then she spots her dad filming. The change is immediate. Her pace picks up, and she starts trotting towards her favorite human. It is easily the best part of this video to see a senior dog get that second wind.

It is almost like a little dance. “Pretty girl has those ears a floppin!,” her owner wrote in the caption. You can even see her smile widen. Watching them slow down is one of the most heartbreaking parts of having a dog. But seeing Eva prancing is just amazing.

She briefly looks at the road. Then she looks to the other side. But her legs are taking her straight to her dad. He is cheering her on. “Look at you run, look at you running girl,” he says. It is probably the highlight of her day, too. And honestly, she looks like a young pup again for a few seconds.

People are obsessed with her. The clip got over 3.4K likes in just a few hours. One viewer called her an “angellllll.” Another person mentioned how she is “prancing” so happily. She might be 14, but her love for her family is ageless.

Senior dogs are the most beautiful creatures, as they have a certain soulfulness. Eva is a beauty, and she is clearly very loved.
