Modern technology is a total blessing until you’re a Golden Retriever trying to figure out how your dad shrank down to the size of a laptop screen in this new video. Stella is currently the most confused girl on the Upper West Side, New York City, because she is FaceTiming with her dad. Usually, she has her favorite human right there for cuddles. Now he is just a tiny waving man behind glass. Her mom, who posts at @stellathegoldennyc, captures her looking so lovingly at the screen. She rests her nose on the keyboard and is completely mesmerized by his voice. But she also can’t figure out where the rest of him is. It is the sweetest thing to watch.

Stella stays glued to the bed while mom films the whole interaction. This breed is famous for being incredibly attached to their family. They are basically velcro dogs, so seeing her human without being able to touch him or sniff him is a real struggle. Dad is smiling and waving from the other side, and Stella keeps her eyes locked on him.
She looks so peaceful at first. But then the logic part of her brain starts working and she knows something is not quite right here. Suddenly she decides to take matters into her own paws. She paws at the keyboard a few times and then gets up to perform a full investigation.
She actually leans over the laptop’s screen to look for the rest of him. One viewer was surprised by the fact that she’s actually checking if he is behind the screen. It makes total sense in her dog brain — if he is there, he must be hiding. Then the fluffball comes back around to sniff the keyboard. “He’s there but i cant smell him,” another person joked.
The confusion finally leads her straight to her mom. She covers the entire camera frame with her face. She seems to be asking for a better explanation. Her mom was so moved by the reaction. “I’m sorry but he can NEVER go out of town again,” she said. The way she checked the back of the laptop really hit home. This video of a Golden Retriever looking for her dad has already hit over 24k likes because people find her confusion so endearing.
