A hilarious Instagram video from user @mexiq2018 shows that once a Great Dane sets her eyes on the treats, nothing can distract her, not even her owner repeatedly calling after her. Daisy, the Great Dane, stands up on her back legs and plants her forelimbs on the kitchen counter. Then, she uses her mouth to pull open a wooden cabinet door and starts digging around for the hidden treats like she owns the place.
Great Dane can’t be stopped when searching for hidden treats
Before the dog finds her treats in the video, the Great Dane’s owner asks her, “Ma’am, what are you getting?” Instead of even so much as glancing at her owner, Daisy responds by shutting the cabinet with her paw, as if she is saying, “Yeah, nothing to see here, mom.” But the hesitation lasts about one second.
Daisy reopens the cabinet as her owner presses again, asking, “Daisy. Hello? What are you getting in there?” However, the dog stays calm and focused, her snout still inside the cabinet, while on-screen text throughout the video reads, “Can’t hide the treats from me!”
Then Daisy finally gets a hold of a bag of treats and pulls it out. Her owner keeps talking as the Great Dane stands there with the prize, asking, “Oh, you getting your treat? What are we doing?” Daisy does not look back even once. She hops down and walks away with the treats in her mouth while her owner asks, “Oh, did you get what you wanted?”
The video’s caption spells out Daisy’s approach to life, joking, “If you won’t give me treats… I will get them myself!”
Viewers noted just how confident Daisy was. Some joked that she basically told her owner to mind her business, while others called it “selective hearing.” Moreover, fellow Great Dane owners chimed in to say their dogs also open doors or go searching for hidden toys. One viewer even joked that the treats might need to move “up to the attic.”
