A video showing a stray dog’s rescue story from a snowstorm is melting hearts online, and it is for all the right reasons. Buran, the titular rescue dog in @lovefurryfriends_rescue’s video, was lying under a fence in the snow when his rescuers found him curled up during a snowfall, soaked through and barely hanging on. The on-screen text says locals knew he had no owner and could see he was freezing, but nobody stepped in.

In the video’s on-screen caption, the rescuer writes that they were certain it would be the stray dog’s “last day” before they jumped in to rescue him from the snowstorm. But then came the turn in his story.

The rescue family brought Buran with them, bathed him, dried him off, groomed him, and gave him a safe place to rest, showering him with love at every step. In the video’s caption, they wrote, “One encounter gave him a new life.” They shared, “His fur was completely wet and icy. Buran wouldn’t have survived the night — he would have frozen.”

It is hard to watch the opening part of the video without feeling your chest tighten a little — Buran is huddled into himself, the way dogs often do when they are trying to conserve heat. When a dog gets wet in freezing weather, it does not take long for things to go bad. But that makes what happens next even better.

Once he is indoors, Buran starts to look like a different dog. The video shows the rescuers taking care of him in every measure, as the caption says, “On the day we met, Buran got a new life.” And by the end, he is no longer the dog buried in snow by a fence. He is warm, safe, loved, and with his sweet family that wished “our Buran a happy life.”
